BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, October 10, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Our gimmick key Liam’s Missy came through with a nice runner-up finish last week to keep the BreezeFigs payoffs flowing. Along the way 16 of her 2-year-old BreezeFigs maidens won during the week at: Belmont (two), Belterra, Delaware, Finger Lakes (two), Gulfstream West (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Hawthorne (two), Indiana (two), Keeneland (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Monmouth, Santa Anita and Woodbine. The 3-year-olds are still active with five breaking their maidens at Finger Lakes (two), Golden Gate, Indiana and Woodbine. Today’s 3-yuear-old card is sparse and the 2-year-old card is overflowing but we found an opportunity that looks really interesting, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
2-Year-Olds
Belmont Park, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight,1 1/16 Miles (Turf)
Only two BreezeFigs colts in here, both making their debuts at reasonably tempting odds. Spirit Maker pounded out a six-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSAPR with a 25.63 foot stride length (SL) which was over a foot-and-a-quarter longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Hard Love comes out of the same sale and breezed a different day at a quarter mile where his one-under-Par Group 3 performance is a bit deceiving since he had a 26.13 foot SL that was over a foot longer than average that day. Both of these colts are made for the turf and they have excellent connections, but their morning line odds indicate this is a likely to be a key race. We’d watch the board and shake them both into various gimmicks. Good luck!
