BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, November 9, 2019 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Breeders’ Cup Friday was a heck of a day for BreezeFigs 2-year-olds headed by a BreezeFigs trifecta in the Juvenile (Storm the Court, Anneau d’Or, Wrecking Crew), and wins in the Juvenile Turf Sprint (Four Wheel Drive) and a BreezeFigs exacta in the Juvenile Turf (Structor with Billy Batts) while Donna Veloce completed the exacta in the Juvenile Fillies. Then at Aqueduct the next day the Nashua produced a BreezeFigs exacta in the form of Independence Hall and Meru. Meanwhile, our Pick managed to get out of his own way eventually and completed the superfecta at Aqueduct. All this and 15 other BreezeFigs babies broke their maidens during the week at: Aqueduct, Charles Town, Churchill (two), Delta (BreezeFigs exacta), Gulfstream West (five), Laurel, Mahoning Valley, Remington (two) and Santa Anita. Today’s card has some pockets of interest and one very neat play, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Del Mar, 9th Race, Maiden Claiming ($100,000) 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
This looks like a pretty competitive race with two of the three BreezeFigs colts in here with a shot headed by first-timer Stone Secret. This one pounded out a nine-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSMAR with a 25.52 foot stride length (SL), a foot longer than average that day for colts at a furlong. However, he was not sold (RNA) on a last bid of 145k but has Baffert behind him and his 7-to-2 morning line might indicate he might go off a lukewarm choice. Uncaptured Hero breezed on the same day at a quarter mile and posted a four-over-Par Group 2 effort with a 24.63 foot SL, almost a half foot shorter than average. He ships in from Laurel where he tired in his debut but in here is listed at 3-to-1, go figure. Doctrinaire also breezed the same day at a furlong and posted a one-over-Par Group 2 ticket with a 25.79 foot SL, more than a quarter foot longer than Stone Secret posted the same day. He bombed out in his debut and is at 20-to-1. We think you might want to key on Stone Secret and toss the other two into gimmicks given the way the board plays. Good luck!
