BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, November 7th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Sent too early and worn out near the wire, our key last week, My Dinah Lee, faded to fourth to complete a $149 superfecta, but that was only if you liked her at 32-to-1 with the three favorites. Otherwise, bupkus. Sorry. Still, it was a good week for BreezeFigs maidens and stakes horses, with Nyquist winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and one of our previous Pix, Sheikh to Sheikh, taking the Juvenile Dirt Sprint. Thirteen BreezeFigs maidens came home on top in their races, with three each at Churchill and Gulfstream West, two each at Del Mare and Golden Gate, and solos at Belmont, Laurel and Woodbine. Not bad at all considering there were no races anywhere with BreezeFigs maidens on Monday and Tuesday. Today’s card is thick with opportunity but one first-timer stands out, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick: Churchill Downs, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
Piracy is a mystery filly. She blew the doors off at OBSAPR with an eight-over-Par Group 1 performance which featured a 25.56 foot stride length, almost a foot-and-a-half longer than fillies at a quarter mile that day. But she was scratched before the sale started which means there might have been an issue which developed during her breeze. No matter. If she can walk she has a chance here as her 5-to-1 morning line suggests, especially at seven furlongs where she will have a chance to settle. She is a definite key and may be worth a little more in the straight pools as well. Good luck!
