BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, November 6, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

webmaster|Nov 05, 2021

Sorry ‘bout that, we put the wrong race number in on our Pick last week and after our choice got bumped at the start she did her best to keep up finishing in a tight photo for second but only managed to complete the super by finishing fourth. The BreezeFigs maiden 2-yea-olds elsewhere that day and during the rest of the week acquitted themselves well with a baker’s dozen breaking their maidens at: Charles Town, Churchill (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Delta Downs (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Golden Gate, Gulfstream, Hawthorne, Laurel (two), Santa Anita and Zia (BreezeFigs exacta). The 3-year-olds have gone quiet with only two winning last week at Finger Lakes and Santa Anita. Indeed, the 3-year-old card tomorrow has no first-time starters so we hunted and pecked among the juvenile set and found two opportunities for you.—see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

2-Year-Olds:

Churchill Downs, 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)

A couple of pricey fillies with opposite BreezeFigs records look enticing in here with the first timer Lady Jeopardy getting our nod. She comes out of OBSJUN with a nine-over-Par Group 1 profile powered by a 26.03 foot stride length (SL), almost two feet longer than fillies that day at a quarter mile. Our Souper Lady has done fairly well in her first couple of starts given her very modest profile at OBSMAR where her four-under-Par Group 3 profile was tempered by a 22.42 foot SL, more than half a foot shorter than fillies that day at a furlong. She’s at 5-to-1 and Lady Jeopardy at 10-to-1, and we think the latter is more likely to come home on top but both could be keys.

Delta Downs, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)

Same distance as the race above but this is around two turns which will require some quick stepping. Both the cleverly-named Jusaboachocolates (check the pedigree) and Mark With an E have that going for them. Jusaboxachocolates put up a two-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSAPR where his 23.62 SL was about a third of a foot shorter than average for colts that day at a furlong. Mark With an E came up with an eight-over-Par Group 2 profile at OBSJUN with a 23.55 foot SL, which was about a quarter foot shorter than average for colts that day at a furlong. However, he was not sold (RNA) on a final bid of 24k. These two are about as even as they come and are well worth using as keys. Good luck!
