BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, November 3, 2018, by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

Last week’s Pick Corruze turned in a performance that if made earlier might have prompted his connections to take him to today’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. As it is, he exploded through the stretch to catch the other BreezeFigs colt, Kinetic Swagger, and buried that one and his field to give a $26.00 gift to his backers. The other Pick, Lady Furbein at Hawthorne got off poorly and, alas, did nothing. However, 13 other BreezeFigs maiden juveniles won at: Belmont, Churchill, Delta, Gulfstream (four, including three BreezeFigs exactas), Hawthorne, Mahoning Valley, Parx, Remington, Santa Anita and Woodbine. Saturday's card is all over the place and many tracks will be threatened by bad weather, but we found a sneaky one on the Left Coast that might work, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

Santa Anita, 2nd Race, Maiden Claiming ($50,000), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)

No Breeders’ Cup hopefuls in here, but there is a potential BreezeFigs trifecta with the horses in the 1-2-3 holes. The one in the middle, first-timer Ma Bella, threw in a three-over-Par Group 1 performance at EASMAY with a 24.57 foot stride length (SL), half a foot longer than fillies that day at a furlong. La Dolfina, on the rail, ran creditably in her debut at a lower level reflecting her even-Par Group 1 status at BARMAR where her 23.97 foot SL was about average that day. The other firster, Sass Machine in post three had a mixed two-under-Par Group 3 profile at OBSJUN with a basically average 23.84 foot SL. Discrete Stevie B’s two poor efforts have franked her seven-Under-Par Group 4 form at BARMAR where her 24.48 foot SL was more than half a foot longer than average but her overall impression failed to sell her (RNA) at a head-scratching 17k. We’d key on Ma Bella and consider tossing in La Dolfina and Sass Machine if the board so advises. Good luck!
