BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, November 27, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
“Rookie mistakes” by our Pix last week resulted in disappointment except for a superfecta finish at Golden Gate. Otherwise it was another banner week for BreezeFigs 2-year-old maidens with 19 of them chalking up wins at: Aqueduct (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta); Churchill (four), Del Mar, Delta, Fair Grounds, Gulfstream (five, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Laurel, Parx and Woodbine (two). A couple of 3-year-olds won at Aqueduct and Golden Gate. Today’s card is all over the place with but there are two with logical stand outs—see below. Stay safe, and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
2-Year-Olds:
Aqueduct, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Morello comes in here with a six-over-Par Group 1 ticker at EASMAY where his 25.04 foot stride length (SL) was almost a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong—and he drew a final bid of $250k from Asmussen. Interestingly, Munny Bolt delivered a two-over-Par Group 1 effort at the same sale on the same day and posted a 24.24 foot SL, just above average for the day. He was also purchased by Asmussen for another outfit for $460k, so we have a situation that has rarely existed in this column. In addition, Inevtabl Connection slips in here off a good effort in his debut where he franked his form at OBSAPR where his two-over-Par Group 2 ticket featured at 24.47 SL, more than a third of a foot longer than average. These three look eminently playable in whatever way you wish, including keys.
Tampa Bay, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, Mile & 40 Yards (Dirt)
Tap the Gavel comes in here with a $230k sale price at OBSAPR where his 11-over-Par Group 1 performance was enhanced by a 25.41 foot SL, more than a foot a three eighths longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Clever outfit waited for this spot, pounce! Good luck!
