BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, for Saturday, November 24, 2018 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Yes, we are stuffed, but we don’t feel like we were stuffed with turkey yesterday as much as we felt stuffed by what happened to our Pick last week. Granted, the winner is obviously a special colt but was not a BreezeFigs horse; however, we really thought our selection, Light of the World, is a good colt as well. Then the gate opened and either the horse or the rider went to sleep. Or maybe this was one of those “give him a race” deals. In any case, why pout? Fifteen BreezeFigs maidens won during the week with a couple of BreezeFigs exactas (one of which was kicked off by a $104 winner) and one BreezeFigs trifecta among the goodies. The wins came at Aqueduct (two), Churchill (four, including that $104 BreezeFigs exacta kickoff and the BreezeFigs trifecta, both on Thanksgiving), Del Mar (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Fair Grounds, Gulfstream West, Laurel, Parx (two) and Remington (two). There were also three eminently playable stakes winner on the cards during the week at Del Mar, Delta and Zia. Today’s card is light on first-timers with credentials but there is one that is worth looking at, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Delta Downs, 9th Race, Maiden Special Weight,, 7 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
Scratched from EASMAY after posting a solid seven-over-Par Group 2 ticket with a 24.52 foot stride length (SL) (more than half-foot longer than fillies that day at a quarter mile), Just Say Mo intrigues us despite the fact that she is listed as being sold as a yearling for 95k, a mere pittance for a daughter of Uncle Mo. Still, she showed enough talent in her breeze that her 7-to-2 morning line looks tempting. She’s a gimmick play and could be a key if the board lights up. Good luck!
