BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, November 13, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Let us not dwell upon our utter disappointment in last week’s Pix but rather point out that three of BreezeFigs’s most stellar graduates—Knicks Go, Medina Spirit and Corniche—lived up to their standards in the Breeders’ Cup. Classic winner Knicks Go had a Group 1 profile at OBSAPR18 with a 25.05 foot stride length (SL), while runner-up Medina Spirit came out of OBSJUN20 with a Group 1 profile and 25.42 foot SL). Juvenile victor Corniche came out of this year’s OBSAPR sale with a Group 2 ticket and 26.57 foot SL. Overall it was another good week for BreezeFigs maidens as four of the 3-year-olds won at Charles Town (two), Finger Lakes and Penn National. On the juvenile side, 11 won at Belmont (three, including a BreezeFigs trifecta); Churchill (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Gulfstream (two), Laurel (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Parx and Woodbine. Today’s card has no 3-year-old firsters but a bevy of 2-year-old opportunities, one of which is likely to be a key race,.—see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
2-Year-Olds:
Del Mar, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
This one is loaded with pricey juveniles including an intriguing first-timer in Bron and Brow who comes out of OBSAPR with a two-over-Par Group 2 ticket that featured a 25.34 foot SL, a foot-and-a-quarter longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. He is up against three other BreezeFigs graduates who have impressed at the races thus far starting with Pec Tacular on the rail whose three-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSJUN featured a 25.17 foot SL, a half-foot longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. He finished second in his debut to Rockefeller who won the Remsen last week at Belmont so he will be seriously played. War At Sea comes in here with a four-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSMAR where his 24.21 foot SL was a half-foot longer than average that day for colts at a furlong. He was third in his debut to Corniche and was smacked around in his second start so he will draw tons of cash. Then there’s Sir London, whose seven-over-Par Group 2 profile at EASMAY featured a whopping 27.16 foot SL, two and three-quarters feet longer than average that day at a furlong—his debut was striking as well. The three with the experience have to be played here but we would not overlook Bron and Brow who might be your key at a very nice price. Should be a heck of a race. Good luck!
