BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, Saturday, November 10th

Bob Fierro|Nov 09, 2007
While we did OK last week with a back-up horse as a winner at Woodbine, the real news was the performance of BreezeFigs horses on Sundays card. Sometimes, the stars align16 maiden races, 11 winners: AQU, CRC (2), CT, DEL (2), HOO (2), OSA, RP, WO . 3 exactas (CRC, DEL, OSA), one $59 first time starter at AQU (a G1 horse). And, every race at Remington and Delta Downs that had a BreezeFigs horse in it last week was won by a BreezeFigs horsemost stand-alones.

Remember, our rules still hold about BreezeFigs qualified runners: You can get a good idea of what qualified BreezeFigs horses are by clicking on BreezeFigs Information underneath the two BreezeFigs links in the DRF-PLUS box in the right hand column on the home page and downloading files there. Remember, keep stride length (SL) in mind when handicapping from the BreezeFigs sheet and take advantage of all the tips that we provide on those sheets as well.

Today were back to being bi-coastal. Good luck!

Aqueduct, , Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs

There are four BreezeFigs horses in here, three of them firsters, and two of them are worth playing. Jockey Ridge earned a G2 BreezeFig of 67 at EASMAY with a nice 25.3 foot SL that was 1.25 feet longer than average for colts at 1/8 mile on the day he breezed. Lieutenant Ron also breezed at the same sale and same day but at a quarter-mile and had a 26.3 ft SL, which was more than two feet longer than colts at that distance. They could get a tussle from another out of that sale, Forest Lightning, whose SL was much lower but came on a day when all the SLs were much lower. These three look better than Handsome Reward, who did well in his first start but comes out of the OBSAPR sale with a very short SL and may not be able to hold the top two off.

Hollywood Park, , Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Synthetic)

Breezing on synthetic Polytrack and turf at KEEAPR made no difference to Street Royale who showed a 24.7 ft SL on both surfaces, earning high BreezeFigs for both efforts. He looks ready to pounce here. You might consider Sky Patriot, who was rank in his first out and had a short SL at FTFFEB, or Chop House George, who has certainly had his chances, to play under Street Royale who looks like a solid play to us.
