BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, May 28th, 2016 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore

DRF Staff|May 27, 2016

Seemed a little lazy and not quite prepared—that’s our assessment of our Pick last week but R Shade of Gray did manage to rumble home to finish off a $100 trifecta. So it shouldn’t be a total loss, the third race on that card at Parx was won by Woodford Tea, a BreezeFigs second-time starter who paid $23, one of five BreezeFigs maiden 3-year-olds to score last week. The others were at Belmont (two, including previous Pick Picco Uno), Evangeline, Finger Lakes and Mountaineer). Meanwhile, among the 2-year-old set, six races attracted BreezeFigs maidens and in the first race at Churchill on the 20thMaximum Edge and Golden Mischief combined for a $26 BreezeFigs exacta. In the other four races, BreezeFigs horses completed exactas, trifectas and superfectas. Today we are going to concentrate on the babies, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

Arlington Park, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 4 ½ Furlongs (Synthetic)

Note: Every horse on the 2-year-old card is worth playing today, but this one has two graduates of the OBSMAR sale who looked OK in their breezes and they might be worth keying. Shackin Up (really?) posted a nine-over-Par Group 1 profile at that sale with a 24.50 stride length (SL) that was just over three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day for fillies at a furlong. On the same day at the same distance Tizway That Way posted a four-over-Par Group 2 profile with a 25.11 foot SL, more than a foot-and-a-third longer than average. The difference in the Group placings is that Shackin Up went 9.4 and Tizway That Way went 10.0 for the furlong. All things considered, they are dead even and should be in the mix all the way. Good luck!
