Our 2-year-old Pick at Lone Star last week ran creditably to finish a solid second while our 3-year-old Pix either are not that good or did not like the deeply sloppy track at Pimlico. The babies had a good week with two winners including a BreezeFigs exacta at Belmont and a solitary winner at Santa Anita. The 3-year-olds exploded with 17 breaking their maidens, at: Belmont (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Churchill (two), Finger Lakes, Gulfstream (five, including a BreezeFigs trifecta), Monmouth, Parx (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Penn National and Santa Anita (two). Saturday's cards are very strange, as you will see, below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here are Saturday’s Pix:

2-year-olds:

Gulfstream Park, 2rd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 furlongs (Turf):

Confidential is the only BreezeFigs entry here, and his OBSMAR profile is hardly one to dance about—three-under-Par Group 3 with a basically average 23.54 foot stride length (SL) at an eighth on synthetic. However, he has his crafty turf trainer going for him and that means that his 4-to-1 morning line might be generous if it stays around that at post time. He’s a key.

3-year-olds:

Lone Star Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)

This column concentrates on first-time starters only, but today’s 3-year-old card has only one of those and it’s not a horse to play. So, we scrounged around and came up with Red Flash, whose nine-over-Par Group 1 performance at OBSJUN featured a 24.66 foot SL, seven-eighths of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. He had a useful debut at Oaklawn and gets an extra furlong here to show his stuff. If he’s not pushed early he could roll late. Another key. Good luck
