Considering the lack of opportunities, it was a very decent week for BreezeFigs maidens—except for our Pix. The 2-year-old Restored Order actually ran in the race in which he was on the AE list on Friday and looked like a winner until he started to dance inside the eighth pole in a very green manner. Our 3-year-old Pick, El Samuro, was nowhere to be seen until late in the drive—you might want to tab him back at the a longer distance. There were five BreezeFigs maiden winners during the week, three at Gulfstream and one each at Will Rogers and re-opening day at Golden Gate. Today’s card welcomes back Churchill and Santa Anita, and even though there are some questionable entries for some which might be viewed as tune-ups for future efforts, we’ve found one that should be a decent play, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pix

Santa Anita Park, 3rd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf)

Both likely favorite Fierce for Sul and 15-to-1 Sweet Sonny went for beaucoup bucks at OBSMAR and OBSAPR respectively, even though their profiles were quite different. Fierce for Sul posted a four-over-Par Group 1 effort with a 24.26 foot stride length (SL), just about average that day for colts at an eighth of a mile. Sweet Sonny had a two-under-Par Group 3 profile with a 24.78 foot SL that was three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day at a furlong. This is a tricky race because it’s a turf sprint and not many of these are written at this time of year. However, they will pound Fierce for Sul because of his connections, and he should be your key, but you might want to consider throwing Sweet Sonny in your gimmicks if the board says it’s OK. Good luck!
