BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, March 28th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Though she ran somewhat up to expectations in her debut, our Pick last week, Exposure, got run over in the drive but managed to save third for those who keyed her in the monster $1,470 trifecta. The rest of the week went well with nine BreezeFigs maidens getting to the winner’s circle, spread out all over the place: at Fair Grounds, Golden Gate, Gulfstream (2), Laurel, Oaklawn, Santa Anita and Tampa Bay (2). Today’s card is a little weak on numbers, but also features those BreezeFigs Kentucky Derby nominees who would be making one of their first four starts if running today (track is CD)—might be useful to check them out, Our Pick for today is below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreeeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Oaklawn Park, 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs, (Dirt)
Two BreezeFigs colts in here, with one making his debut—and someone must know something because they’ve made Sailthehighseas 4-to-1 in the morning line. He did well at OBSAPR where his four-over-Par Group 1 profile featured a 24.09 foot stride length, almost half-foot longer than average that day for colts at one furlong. The other BreezeFigs horse, Doritoz, was unimpressive at OBSJUN with a three-under-Par Group 3 effort that pegged his SL at 21.94 feet, almost a foot and a half shorter than average for colts that day at a furlong. His first outing was not impressive either. This looks like a pretty good race to back Sailthehighseas in as many ways as you wish. Good luck!
