BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, March 27, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

It was one of the more sur[rising moves we’ve seen lately when our key Pick Win Worthy came blasting off the Fair Grounds turn and looked like a winner at 19-to-1 only to be nailed by a high-class favorite inside the last few yards. When our gimmick toss-in Shaldag came up late for third at least we got bailed out in the exacta and trifecta that race. Our other Pick at Oaklawn may still be running. There were seven BreezeFigs maidens that won last week at: Aqueduct, Fair Grounds (two), Gulfstream (two), Laurel (BreezeFigs exacta), and Tampa Bay. We found an unusual play on today’s card, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

Turfway Park, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs, (Synthetic)

This looks like a pretty promising bunch of colts with some of them carrying significant pedigrees and price tags, and there are four BreezeFigs guys in here, three of them making their debuts, who look enticing. Emphasize comes out of OBSMAR with a six-over-Par Group 1 profile that featured a 25 foot stride length (SL) which was three-quarters of a foot longer than the average for colts that day at a furlong. Run Run Rapidash breezed on a different day at the same sale and posted a six-over-Par Group 2 profile with a 24.60 SL that was a third of a foot longer than average. Breakers Roar turned in a two-over-Par Group 2 effort at EASMAY with a 25.07 foot stride length (SL) that was almost two-thirds of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong—but he was scratched (SCR) after the breeze and did not go through the ring. Mischievous Rogue is making his second start off a good runner-up debut which franked the form of his two-under-Par Group 3 profile at OBSAPR where his 24.77 foot SL was a half-foot longer than average that day. He did not sell (RNA) at 240k and may actually go off the favorite. This is a watch-the-board race with all four of these looking mighty tasty but if we had to key any we’d go with Emphasize and Mischievous Rogue, and toss the other two into gimmicks. Good luck!
