BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, March 21, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
When you’re the only game in town it helps to have some quality data and BreezeFigs keeps providing it. Our Pix last week were split—one was scratched and the other, Happy Road, showed strong closing momentum to complete the trifecta at Golden Gate—tab her back at a mile. During the week seven BreezeFigs maidens won at: Aqueduct (BreezeFigs exacta), Fair Grounds (two), Laurel (BreezeFigs exacta), Sam Houston (two) and Tampa Bay. Today’s card has some opportunities, two of which are presented on your platter, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Tampa Bay, 4th Race, Maiden Claiming (32k), 1 1/16 Miles (Turf)
He’s not the sweetest mover in the world but Conveyed showed enough in his one-over-Par Group 2 breeze at OBSJUN to suggest he needs the weeds and should be able to rumble along late. He was not sold (RNA) on a final bid of 37k even after posting a 25.08 foot stride length (SL), which was three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day for colts at a furlong, so this level looks right for him. Hooyah has had a weird couple of starts and comes in here from Gulfstream with a new trainer to see if he can justify his four-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSAPR where his 23.91 foot SL was about average. Both of these fellas are “watch-the-board” gimmick possibilities.
Santa Anita, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf)
Sophomoric blew the doors off at FTCJUN with a 12-over-Par Group 1 ticket that featured a 24.11 foot SL, a foot-and-a-half longer than average for fillies at a furlong. She was not sold (RNA) on a final bid of 150k and she has favorable odds here for strong consideration as a key. Good luck!
