BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, March 19th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Second week in a row we got a bit lucky when Minute Madness, which might have been another gimmick Pick if we’d known Mr Louise would be scratched (again!), went wire-to-wire to post a $63 upset. Our top Pick, Adulator (who went off the surprising choice) hesitated at the start and lost all chance, finishing fifth. Tab him back at a distance. Eight other BreezeFigs maidens came home on top last week, including two at Aqueduct and Santa Anita, and solos at Golden Gate, Parx, Tampa Bay and Turfway. There are several really nice opportunities today for first-time BreezeFigs horses, but we found a solo who looks interesting, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix: Aqueduct, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight (New York-Breds), 6 Furlongs (Inner Dirt)
One BreezeFigs maiden in here, and the morning line is 5-to-1 so maybe someone knows something about this first-time starter. That would be Benevolence, who chalked up a solid three-over-Par Group 1 profile at EASMAY with a 24.11 foot stride length, about a third of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. His sire was a sprinter and he looks like he might be able to stalk the pace and move late. If he stays out of trouble in this bulky field, he is worth at least a gimmick play, and perhaps a bob on the nose as well. Good luck!
