BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, March 13, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
We cautioned going into our Pick last week that the race was likely to be a bit of a mess and it was, with just one of our gimmick plays (Chaos Reigns) getting into the money by completing the superfecta. It was a relatively quiet week all around with eight BreezeFigs maidens coming home on top at: Delta, Gulfstream (three), Laurel, Oaklawn (BreezeFigs trifecta), Tampa and Turfway. Today’s card is a bit enticing and we found two early chances to get some cash, back see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix::
Aqueduct, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight (New York-Breds), 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
B C Glory Days, a previous Pick who almost cashed in, gets another chance here but there’s a first-timer named Ghostmon to whom attention should also be paid. Both come out of OBSAPR where they breezed a furlong on different days with Ghostmon posting a seven-over-Par Group 1 number with a 24.36 foot stride length (SL), just about average for colts that day at a furlong—and was led out of the ring unsold (RNA) at 70k. B C Glory Days posted an even-Par Group 2 ticket with a 24.47 foot SL, just about average for colts on his day, so they basically look even and should be your keys here.
Oaklawn Park, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Both BreezeFigs fillies are first-timers with My My Munny having had two chances to shine last year. The first was at OBSMAR where she turned in a four-under-Par Group 4 ticket with a 23.27 foot SL, a half-foot shorter than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She never made it to the ring, having been scratched from the sale (SCR) for whatever reason. She came back at EASMAY with a vastly improved two-over-Par Group 1 performance that featured a 24.52 foot SL, a half-foot longer than average that day. Aka Lioness tossed in an even Par Group 2 performance at OBSAPR where her 24.68 foot SL was just above average for fillies at a quarter mile that day. We like her better than My My Munny and think she should be your key with My My Munny thrown into some gimmicks with her. Good luck!
