BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, March 12th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Take what you can get, one supposes. While our upset Pick, Fielding Gold, looked like he couldn’t be bothered, or logical key Pick, Joy Drive, managed to outlast another BreezeFigs maiden, Ussery’s Alley, whom we didn’t like, for a $15 BreezeFigs exacta. Our Bonus Pick, Picco Uno, ran steadily enough to complete a $28 trifecta two races later. Five other BreezeFigs maidens won last week in addition to Joy Drive: another at Aqueduct, one each at Gulfstream and Parx, and two at Tampa Bay. Today’s card features several really good opportunities, and a potential key race, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix: Gulfstream Park, 10th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
This race is loaded with potential all over the place even though most of them look like they will need more than six furlongs. Three of the four BreezeFigs horses are first-timers, and we lean toward Adulator because his three-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSMAR was among the best in the sale. His 24.75 foot stride length (SL) was more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day for colts at one eighth. Mr Louise is another of those by Uncle Mo who brought a lot of money at the sale, and his one-over-Par Group 1 record at FTFMAR featured a 24.31 foot SL on the this track, about a third of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Minute Madness has shown some promise in two starts to give some merit to his one-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSAPR where his 23.98 foot SL was about two-thirds of a foot longer than average for colts that day on synthetic. Saddled, on the other hand, breezed the same day with a 21.39 foot SL, well over a foot and two-thirds shorter than average for a three-under Par Group 3 profile. We really like Adulator for the long run but Mr Louise may get the jump here, but both of them are worth serious consideration. Good luck!
