BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, June 6, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

That was some week—our Pick, Count Alexei, got nailed in the very last jump but ran his eyeballs out, and two impressive juvenile BreezeFigs winners set their tracks on fire—Prisoner on opening day at Belmont and Tobys Heart in a stunning gallop on the weeds at Churchill. In addition eight 3-year-old BreezeFigs maidens graduated to the winners circle as racing got back into nearly normal seasonal meets at: Belmont (two on opening day), Gulfstream (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas), Tampa Bay (two) and Santa Anita. And just to make things seem more normal, the last of seven breeze shows for the OBSAPR sale which was moved to June takes place today, so there will be another thousand or so babies getting ready to run in the coming months. Today’s best opportunities are one on each card, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here are Saturday’s Pix:

3-Year-Olds:

Belmont Park, 3rd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)

Two BreezeFigs colts line up here and either one could run away with it although we think they could come down to the wire pretty close together. Pardsy turned in an amazing 15-over-Par Group 1 performance at OBSAPR last year with a 25.61 foot stride length (SL) that was a foot-and-a-third longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Buona Fina, on the other hand, was scratched from FTFMAR after posting a six-under-Par Group 4 ticket with a 23.27 foot SL that was not only a half foot shorter than average but also indicated something was not quite right. He came back at EASMAY with a two-over-Par Group 1 performance and a 24.61 foot SL that was three-quarters of a foot longer than average. This is a really tough race but you should give each of them consideration and watch the board for possible use of both of them as keys.

2-Year-Olds:

Santa Anita Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight), 5 Furlongs (Dirt)

Both Exhalting and the socially brilliant named Herd Immunity showed excellent form at OBSMAR where Exhalting turned in an eight-over-Par Group 1 performance with a 25.22 foot SL that was almost a foot longer than average that day for colts at a furlong, but he was not sold (RNA) for 38k. Herd Immunity scored a five-over-par Group 1 ticket on a different day with a 25.92 foot SL that was more than a foot and a quarter longer than average that day at a furlong. These two could duke it out all the way and are worth considering as keys. Good luck!
