BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, June 20, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Racing is back! You can tell that by the number of 3-year-old BreezeFigs maidens that graduated last week (a dozen), including our gimmick Pick, Catch That Party at Belmont, who came through in a game performance and paid $12.40. And one 2-year-old, Hulen, aced his card at Churchill—there will be more of those babies coming out soon because the OBSAPR sale graduates are on their way to various tracks. Besides Catch That Party, BreezeFigs 3-year-olds won at Belmont (two others, including another on the same card as our Pick), Churchill, Golden Gate, Gulfstream (three), Lone Star, Louisiana Downs (BreezeFigs exacta) and Woodbine (two). Today’s card for 3-year-olds is quite tasty but we’ve got two solo plays that might pay off nicely, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here are Saturday’s Pix:
3-Year-Olds:
Belmont Park, 1st Race, Maiden Claiming ($75,000), One Mile (Turf)
Conglomerate posted a one-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSJUN with a 25.33 foot stride length (SL), a foot-longer-than-average that day for colts at a furlong. He’s by the right sire for a test on the weeds in a contentious field. He’s part of an entry so he might be the one scratched, or they might run both. Might be a good start to Belmont Stakes Day.
Churchill Downs, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
After posting a 10-over-Par Group 1 number at KEEAPR last year, Bellucci was scratched (SCR) before the sale began. Her 24.92 foot SL was just above average that day for fillies at a furlong, she has the pedigree and the looks, and an oddly generous 12-to-1 morning line assessment. Watch the board on this one and toss her into gimmicks at the very least. Good luck!
