BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, June 19, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLEOne of our Pix fried himself chasing the lead and the other didn’t bother to get out of the gate on time so there you go for last week’s choices. As for the good news, two juvenile BreezeFigs maidens won at Churchill and Santa Anita and four broke their maidens at Churchill, Indiana. Monmouth and Santa Anita. Today’s card is all over the place and may be affected by the weather, so we’ve got a couple of options to consider, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
3-Year-Olds:
Churchill Downs, 3rd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf)
The only BreezeFigs colt in here is on the main-track-only list and the weather may give us the chance to see if Upandcomingstar can live up to his name. He posted a seven-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSAPR last year with a 24.51 foot stride length (SL), which was a half-foot longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. But he was scratched (SCR) from the sale before the auction began and has taken his time coming to hand. If it comes off the weeds, watch the board.
2-Year-Olds:
Santa Anita, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)
Three BreezeFigs fillies are in here with two of them early-line favorites. Censorship posted a four-over-Par Group 2 profile at OBSMAR with a 25.62 foot SL which was a foot longer than average for fillies at a furlong that day. Eda breezed on another day and posted a two-over-Par Group 1 ticket that featured a 23.47 foot SL, which was a half-foot longer than average for fillies that day. Talkative Gal breezed the same distance at OBSAPR and posted a six-under-Par Group 4 number with a 23.60 foot SL which was an eight of a foot shorter than average. You’re not going to hit a huge payoff if key Censorship and Eda, but they’re the stick-outs here. Good luck!
