BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, June 18th, 2016 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
All three choices in our Pick last week either got off slowly or were basically run off their feet but Our Stormin Norman did managed to scrape up to complete a $98 exacta. In fact, it was a pretty modest week all around—only two BreezeFigs 3-year-olds and two BreezeFigs 2-year-olds broke their maidens, but this happens sometimes. There are some good plays on Saturday's card, one of which looks like it might carry some sentimental value, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Monmouth Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)
Father’s Day weekend is the right time to pick Nonno, which is the colloquialism for “grandfather” in Italian, though we don’t know whether they named him for that (but the stable name gives us a strong clue). In any case, this colt came up with a four-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSMAR with a 24.70 foot stride length, which was a quarter foot longer than average for colts that day at an eighth of a mile. He’s the only BreezeFigs horse in the field, so key him and raise a glass. Good luck!
