BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, June 12, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Despite our Pick last week having failed to get out of a gallop in a hot maiden race, BreezeFigs maidens had a very good time getting to the winner’s circle all around the country. Nine of the 3-year-olds tallied at Belmont, Churchill, Gulfstream (three), Indiana, Lone Star, Monmouth and Parx. The juveniles came out blasting with a BreezeFigs superfecta at Gulfstream and a BreezeFigs trifecta at Santa Anita to go along with a solo at Arlington. Today’s card is all over the place but we’ll pounce on a very long chance, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
3-Year-Olds:
Churchill Downs, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs, (Dirt)
Three of the four BreezeFigs colts in here have a shot and two of them are first timers. Tonal Impact gets in sporting a one-over-Par OBSAPR ticket which featured a an almost unreal 26.98 foot stride length (SL) which was more than two feet longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. Yet he’s 20-to-1 in the morning line. Hold that thought. My Miracle Man posted an even-Par Group 1 performance at the same distance at EASMAY with a 25.29 foot SL, a third of a foot longer than average, but never made it to the ring, having been scratched (SCR) after the work. He came back at OBSJUN with a five-over-Par Group 1 performance with a 23.77 foot SL, just under average that day at a furlong. Sams Time ran well enough in his debut to frank his OBSAPR form of a four-over-Par Group 2 ticket which included a 24.16 foot SL, about a half foot shorter than average at a quarter mile that day. Cool Comedian makes his debut with a six-under-Par Group 3 profile from OBSAPR where his 22.27 foot SL was more than two feet below average that day at a furlong—he was promptly scratched from the sale. Given all this we are sorely tempted to key Sams Time and Tonal Impact and maybe throw My Miracle Man in the gimmicks. Good luck!
