BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, for Saturday, June 1, 2019 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Very good 2-year-old Pix last week as Karak won easily at Belmont and paid more than we expected ($5.30) while Run Devil did what we hoped at Gulfstream, completing a nice $20 for two bucks exacta with the favorite. There was also the first BreezeFigs exacta of the year for 2-year-olds, at Santa Anita. Meanwhile, the 3-year-olds continued on their merry way with seven of them breaking their maidens at: Belmont (two), Golden Gate, Gulfstream, Parx, Santa Anita (BreezeFigs exacta) and Woodbine. There were also four BreezeFigs 3-year-olds that won stakes, including two BreezeFigs exactas at Belmont Park. There are no first-timers among today’s 2-year-old card so we’ll give you a couple of 3-year-olds to tide you over, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Belmont Park, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Turf)
Two nice BreezeFigs colts in here with first-timer Swick stuck on the rail but perhaps good enough for a gimmick play based on his Group 1 three-over-Par OBSAPR profile that included a 25.10 foot stride length (SL), almost three quarters of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Readyforprimetime came out of FTFMAR not sold (RNA) at 295k but his four-over-Par Group 1 ticket was solid with a 24.44 foot SL, just a tad below average that day. He has shown good form in his first two starts and probably deserves his 2-to-1 morning line and might be OK as your key..
Churchill Downs, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
Seven Arrows is the lone BreezeFigs filly in here but she comes with a solid one-over-Par Group 1 profile achieved a OBSAPR last year where her 24.90 foot SL was more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day for fillies at a quarter mile. At 8-to-1 morning line she looks like a solid gimmick bet but also might be worth using as a key. Good luck!
