BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, July 8, 2017 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

webmaster|Jul 07, 2017

Our 3-year-old Pick was scratched last week and our 2-year-old gimmick Pick went off first and second choices, and finished third and fourth—so if you mixed and matched with the first two, you picked up something. Lots of people picked up something last week as 11 3-year-old BreezeFigs maidens and a dozen 2-year-old BreezeFigs maidens got home first. The sophomores won at Belmont, Belterra, Delaware, Finger Lakes, Gulfstream (two, one a BreezeFigs exacta), Los Alamitos, Penn National. Pleasanton, Santa Anita and Tampa Bay. The juveniles won at Arlington, Delaware, Ellis (two), Laurel (two on the same day, one a BreezeFigs exacta), Lone Star, Louisiana Downs, Los Alamitos (BreezeFigs exacta), Presque Isla and Santa Anita (two). That about covers things coast-to-coast, eh? Today’s cards are bursting with opportunities, two of which look particularly tasty, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here are Saturday’s Pix:
3-year-olds:
Penn National, 3rd Race, Maiden Special Weight (Pa-Breds),1 1/16 Miles (Dirt)

Bigasaurus comes out at two turns and his profile says that’s what he needs. He was a four-over-Par Group 2 number at OBSMAR last year where his 25.96 foot stride length (SL) was a foot-and-three-quarters longer than average for colts that day at one eighth. He has some tactical speed to get in contention and should be able to run all day, so he has a clear gimmick shot here and may be playable straight if the board tips you off.
2-year-olds:
Prairie Meadows, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)

Three BreezeFigs fillies in here, two making their debuts, one making her third, all coming out of OBSAPR having breezed on three separate days at a furlong each. Taylor’s Wildcat was impressive in her four-over-Par Group 1 performance with a 24.46 foot SL, more than a foot longer than average for fillies that day. The other firster, Missbrooklynbrawler, chalked up a two-over-Par Group 2 profile with a 23.21 foot SL, about an eighth of a foot longer than average. Quiet Flattering threw in a two-under-Par Group 4 profile with a 22.53 foot SL, about a half-foot shorter than average. Her first two starts franked that form. Taylor’s Wildcat looks like the key here, and you might want to throw in Missbrooklynbrawler in a gimmick. Good luck!
