BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, July 3, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Our Pick last week, Carpe All Day, was a neck, a neck, and a half behind at the wire after four of them battled through the stretch—at least he finished up the superfecta. The week was very good otherwise for BreezeFigs maidens: Five of the juveniles won at Belmont, Ellis (BreezeFigs exacta), Gulfstream, Los Alamitos, and Parx; 10 3-year-olds scored at Belmont, Churchill, Gulfstream (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta) Los Alamitos, Monmouth, Parx, Tampa Bay (two), and Woodbine. Today’s card is unusual in that there is one stick-out for each card and they are in consecutive races at one track, see below. Happy Fourth, Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
2-Year-Olds:
Ellis Park, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight, One Mile (Turf)
Moon Over Tuscany is the lone BreezeFigs filly in here and she brings in a six-over-Par Group 1 profile from OBSAPR where her 24.19 foot stride length (SL) was three-quarters of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She’s got the right pedigree behind her to handle the weeds and the distance and looks like a tempting key.
3-Year-Olds:
Ellis Park, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 furlongs (Dirt)
Remember Upandcomingstar? He was our MTO Pick two weeks ago at Churchill but it didn’t rain and he’s back in here on the dirt as the lone BreezeFigs colt. Here’s what we said about him then and we still agree: He posted a seven-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSAPR last year with a 24.51 foot stride length (SL), which was a half-foot longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. But he was scratched (SCR) from the sale before the auction began and has taken his time coming to hand. Another key for you. Good luck.
