BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, July 16th, 2016 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
They scratched our sneaky Pick at Ellis last week and our second choice was a one-paced third. Meanwhile, our Gulfstream Pick ran like she really doesn’t want to. In any case, it was not a bad week at all for BreezeFigs maidens. Among the 2-year-olds there were 11 which made it across the finish line first, including three at Santa Anita, two of which resulted in BreezeFigs exactas. Solos were recorded at Arlington, Belmont, Ellis, Gulfstream, Monmouth, Parx, Presque Isle, and Prairie Meadows. The 3-year-olds still had some life in them, four of them breaking their maidens at Charles Town, Finger Lakes, Indiana and Woodbine. Saturday's cards are loaded, and we’ll give you one from each that look interesting, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
3-Year-Olds:
Charles Town, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 4 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
Ciao Amore posted a very decent two-over-Par Group 2 profile at EASMAY last year where her 24.99 foot stride length (SL) was a foot and a half longer than average for fillies that day at one furlong. Pounce.
2-Year-Olds:
Del Mar, 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)
Six babies here come out of 2-year-old sales this year, three of them at OBSMAR where Noted and Quoted scored best all around. Her three-over-Par Group 1 profile featured a 24.61 foot SL which was just a bit longer than average for fillies that day at a quarter mile. Morganite actually had a longer SL in her two-over-Par Group 2 profile, rolling to a 25.05 foot SL, more than a foot longer than fillies that day at an eighth of a mile. Go Baby Run also went an eighth at that sale, but on a different day, posting a one-under-Par Group 3 profile, and her 23.48 foot SL was about a half-foot shorter than average--and she never made it to the ring, being scratched (SCR) before the bidding began. La Vitesse was impressive at EASMAY, her four-over-Par Group 1 profile bolstered by a 25.12 foot SL, almost a foot and a half longer than average for fillies that day at an eighth. Champagne Room went a quarter mile at OBSAPR and posted a five over-Par Group 2 profile with a 25.60 foot SL, more than a foot and a quarter longer than average. Finally Blissful Lady chalked up a very modest three-under-Par Group 4 profile at BARMAR where her 23.92 foot SL was a quarter foot shorter than average. Looking at how these fillies scored and moved in slo-motion, we’ll give the call to Noted and Quoted as the key here with Morganite and Champagne Room tossed in for gimmick consideration. Good luck!
