BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, January 4, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Happy New Year! So, we liked Devil Made Me Doit last week as one of our two Pix and hoped he’d get a good trip. Turns out he could have run through a brick wall with the way he ran off from his field after being bet down to 3-to-2. Our second Pick was scratched so it was a decent close to our 2-year-old Quick-Pix. During the week 12 other BreezeFigs 2-year-old maidens won at: Aqueduct (three); Fair Grounds (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas); Golden Gate; Parx; Santa Anita (three), and Tampa Bay. In the first two days as 3-year-olds, two others won at Gulfstream and Tampa Bay, as did Independence Hall who was quite impressive in the G3 Jerome. Today’s card has a lot of first-timers, but we found one race where there appears to be somewhat of a lock, see below Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Tampa Bay, 3rd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Conquest Day comes out of OBSJUN with a solid three-over-Par Group 1 ticket and a 24.67 foot stride length (SL), which was a third-of-a-foot longer than average that day for colts at a furlong. Someone must have noticed something because he’s the 9-to-5 favorite in here. There are three other BreezeFigs colts in here, two of which (first-timer Action Warrior and second choice Lance Milan) were scratched (SCR) after tossing in poor Group 4 performances at OBSMAR and OBSAPR, respectively. Lance Milan has run twice and has shown enough to be at 5-to-2 in this crowd. Ikeisgreat punched a four-under-Par Group 3 ticket at OBSAPR with a short SL but he and Lance Milan are your logical gimmick plays in this weak field with Conquest Day as the key. Good luck!
