BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, January 2, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

Happy New Year! This will be a quickie because of holiday schedules. The 2019 cards are gone because those are now 4-year-olds (2019 sales) and the 3-year-old cards (2020 sales) will be the only ones until May when the 2-year-olds (2021 sales) start racing. During the holiday week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, a dozen maidens from the 2020 gang broke their maidens at: Fair Grounds (two), Gulfstream (two, including a BreezeFigs superfecta), Majhoning Valley, Parx, Sanyta Anita (BreezeFigs trifecta), Tampa Bay (four), and Turfway (BreezeFigs exacta). Today’s card has few first-time starters but we found a race early in the day that might be tasty, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

3-Year-Olds

Aqueduct, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight (New York-Breds), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)

Brreakfastatbonnies makes her debut sporting an even-Par Group 2 profile from EASMAY where her 24.29 foot stride length (SL) was more than a third of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a quarter mile. Gracefully Wild posted a two-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSAPR with a 25.41 foot SL which was more than a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She disappointed in her debut but watch the board. The cleverly named Hip Number One (who was that at EASMAY) posted a six-under-Par Group 4 ticket there with a 22.75 foot SL, almost a foot-and-a-half shorter than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She scrambled to the lead in her debut but tired late. Like Gracefully Wild, we think she might have a gimmick chance but Breakfastatbonnies looks like a solid key. Good luck!
