Nice to see our Pick last week, Conquest Day, lose support as the 9-to5 morning line favorite to one of our gimmick plays, Ikeisgreat. That’s because Conquest Day pummeled his field at Tampa and paid $6, while even-money Ikethegreat completed a nice $25 trifecta for half a buck. Overall it was a fairly quiet week on the BreezeFigs front with five additional newly-turned sophomores breaking their maidens at Aqueduct, Gulfstream (two), Laurel (BreezeFigs exacta), Parx and another at Tampa Bay. Today’s card is a bit spotty on first timers so we’ll go back to where we did well last week see below Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Tampa Bay, 2nd Race, Maiden Claiming ($40,000), 5 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
What can we tell you? Here’s another first timer we like who appears as 9-to-5 morning line favorite like last week’s winner. This time it’s The Goddess Lyssa who came out of OBSJUN with a four-over-Par Group 1 ticket based on a 24.51 foot stride length (SL), about a half foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. The other BreezeFigs filly, Whippy Cream, posted a one-over-Par Group 2 profile at OBSMAR with a 25.65 foot SL, which was more than a foot-and-a-half longer than average that day—but she’s 10-to-1 and on the rail. Still, we think you can use her with The Goddess Lyssa as your key. Good luck!
