BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, January 10th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Update Alert: Please refer to the third paragraph for news of a major update to BreezeFigs which eliminates a lot of superfluous text from this column.
Our first Pick of 2015 got waylaid by a 40-to-1 shot who led home three of our Pix, which you might have cashed if you keyed the winner into our selections. Sure. Still, it was a super opening week of the year for BreezeFigs horses across the country with 15 breaking their maidens and five others winning stakes—all the stakes winners were on Saturday at Gulfstream: Night Prowler, Barbados, Devine Aida, Bluegrass Singer, Ekati’s Phaeton. The maidens won at Aqueduct (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Fair Grounds, Gulfstream (five, with three exactas), Laurel, Penn (2), Parx, Santa Anita, and Tampa Bay (two, both exactas). Today’s Pick is below as usual. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreeeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Santa Anita Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
If this looks like déjà vu to you, don’t fret. Last week’s second race at Santa Anita was at 5 ½ furlongs, this one is for fillies at 6 ½ furlongs. Instead of four BreexeFigs horses, there’s only one, Wild at Heart, who is the morning line co-favorite at 5-to-2, and well justified based on her BreezeFigs profile. She was a five-over-Par, Group 1 number at OBSMAR where her 24.64 foot stride length was 1.26 feet longer than average for fillies that day at one-eighth. Pounce. Good luck!
