BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLESo much for parlays. Our Pix last week were dubious going in, and worthless coming out. Sorry. Still, despite the weather there were a near-record 20 BreezeFigs maidens who won during the week, including a bang-up start to the Oaklawn meet where two popped over on opening day and another couple came home later in the week, one of which was a BreezeFigs exacta. The others came at Aqueduct (four), Charles Town, Gulfstream (three, including a BreeeFigs trifecta), Parx (two), Santa Anita (two), Tampa Bay (a BreezeFigs trifecta), and Turfway (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta). Saturday's card has several really good first-time opportunities, two of which have solo BreezeFigs entries we think might work out, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Fair Grounds, 12th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 1 Mile & 70 Yards (Dirt)
Multiplier was impressive enough in his OBSAPR breeze to bring a final bid of 120k—but the colt was not sold (RNA) even though his two-over-Par Group 1 profile with a 24.31 foot stride length (SL) was nearly three-quarters of a foot longer that day than the average for colts at one furlong. First time starters around two turns can be risky, but he is at 8-to-1 and might have some tongues wagging—neat gimmick play.
Tampa Bay, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight, One Mile (Dirt)
Like Multiplier above, Red Curls does not appear in your PPs as having come out of a 2-year-old sale. That’s because this filly was scratched (SCR) after her two-over-Par Group 2 breeze at OBSMAR where he 25.19 foot SL was almost a foot-and-a-half longer than the average for fillies that day at a furlong. She, too, is going two turns first out, and at 12-to-1 morning line might be a bit of cautious gimmick play, but worth it if you’re disciplined. Good luck!
