There’s nothing like a pleasant surprise when it comes to our Pix but to have it happen twice on the same day is really cool. We touted firster Nikki and Papa in the Forward Gal at Gulfstream and said to play her under the other two BreezeFigs fillies in the race, Tonalist’s Shape and Street of Dreams, and of course some laughed. But after a disastrous start our 22-to-1 short closed like the wind to grab the third part of the BreezeFigs trifecta and gave notice that she is one to watch when she takes on maidens. A couple of hours later our Santa Anita Pick, Clivetty, got up late for a very surprising $13.80 payoff. She was one of 10 BreezeFigs maidens to win last week at: Aqueduct, Delta, Gulfstream (two), Oaklawn, Parx, Penn, Turfway and two races after Clivetty won there was a BreezeFigs exacta at the same track. Today card has a ton of “CD” races—ignore them for today’s racing, they are for the Kentucky Derby Future Book. However, there are also some intriguing maiden contests and we found one to take a chance on, see below. Good luck!

Fair Grounds, 8th Race, Maiden Special. 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf)
Saintsation is the lone BreezeFigs filly in here and she is on the rail so she’ll need to get off well to gain some kind of position. She put in a decent three-over-Par Group 1 effort at EASMAY with a 23.65 foot stride length, just above average for fillies that day at a furlong. She is bred to fly early but we’d put her into the gimmick play category which would seem to be good value at her 10-to-1 morning line. Good luck!
