BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, February 6, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
If you watched our Pick Bossy Mama easily take the lead last week you would have been just as shocked as we were when she literally folded her wings at the top of the stretch and finished somewhere in the next county. Still it was a super week for BreezeFigs maidens as 19 of them won headed by an astounding 11 of them at Gulfstream—probably the highest number in a week for one track ever recorded here. The rest oof the crowd came home first at Aqueduct (two both BreezeFigs exactas), Delta Downs, Fair Grounds (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Golden Gate and Tampa Bay. Today’s card is peppered with a lot of AE’s that we like but we found a solo play that might work out, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Tampa Bay, 3rd Race Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Oh Steve threw in a stinker four-under-Par Group 4 ticket at OBSMAR where his 23.63 foot stride length (SL) was a half-foot shorter than average for colts that day at a furlong. He went through the ring as an RNA (not sold) on a final bid of 55k. He came back at OBSJUN with a two-over-Par Group 2 effort that featured a 24.86 foot SL, which was half a foot longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. He was led out of the ring again as an RNA at 95k, so there might be something there his connections like. Looks like a gimmick play at the least. Good luck!
