BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, February 28th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Our Pix last week ran exactly as we thought they would, but they got swamped by another first-timer while easily finishing out a $121 trifecta. During the week there were 10 BreezeFigs maidens who lost their best friend, and two others who took stakes (at Sunland and Turf Paradise). The maiden winners came at Gulfstream (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas), Charles Town, Fair Grounds, Oaklawn (three, including an exacta), Parx and Santa Anita. Today’s card also includes the Kentucky Derby Future Book horses (track ID = CD), and the overall card is loaded with a lot of opportunities, not a whole lot of them with what looks like top class potential. Still, we found one that’s intriguing, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreeeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Aqueduct, 4th Race, Maiden Claiming ($40,000), 6 Furlongs, (Inner-Dirt)
Two of the three BreezeFigs horses in here are making their debuts, and all three look fairly decent. All Gold comes out of EASMAY where his two-over-Par Group 2 profile featured a 23.24 foot stride length on the dirt, about a quarter foot shorter than average for colts that day at one furlongs. Sunny Afternoon also comes out of that event with a 22.64 foot stride length on the next day, half-a-foot shorter than average for colts that day—and he was not sold (RNA) at 19k. That’s not all—he subsequently shipped to Ocala for OBSJUN where he posted another two-over-Par Group 2 profile with a 23.89 foot stride length on synthetic, which was well over half-a-foot above average—but he was not sold again, this time for a paltry 9.5k. Sheesh! Then we have Suckitupbuster who has been out once, finishing second in these conditions, beaten eight lengths, about what to expect off his two-under-Par Group 3 profile at OBSAPR where he posted a 22.47 foot stride length, a foot-and-a-quarter shorter than average. Let’s toss the dart and say it looks like All Gold should be your key, but the other two are just a nose or two behind—and hope for big balloons at the windows.. Good luck!
