BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, February 22, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
The day started out perfectly when our longshot key at Fair Grounds, Dreamalildreamofu was the runner-up to a 13-to-1 shot to kick of juicy gimmicks if you used her. Then we were not amused to see our other Pick Charlotte Webley get pushed right to the front and open up daylight in her debut at Aqueduct because we thought she needs to settle and come off the pace. Whatever. She threw it in at the eight pole. Still, it was a very good week overall for BreezeFigs maidens as 18 came home on top at: Aqueduct (four), Fair Grounds, Gulfstream (four, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Laurel (BreezeFigs exacta), Oaklawn (two), Parx (two), Santa Anita and Tampa Bay (three, including a BreezeFigs trifecta). Today’s card is spotty with a lot of iffy situations, one of which looks better than the others, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

As is often the case, the BreezeFigs horse that performed better at the sales is listed as a longer shot than the morning line favorite who is also a BreezeFigs horse that didn’t do as well in her test. So, we think Leyte, at 6-to-1, might be a pretty decent gimmick play based on her one-over-Par Group 2 profile at EASMAY where her 24.03 foot stride length (SL) was half a foot better than average for fillies that day at a furlong and she sold for 60k. On the other hand, 8-to-5 favorite Honey Money, who was bought for 240k following her three-under-Par Group 3 ticket at OBSAPR (where her 24.14 foot SL was almost half-a-foot longer than average) has the right connections and a hot first-time sire, so she might have to be your key. But don’t overlook Leyte. Good luck!
