BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, February 1, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Last week’s Pick, Johnny Casino, folded his hand early but we did see 11 BreezeFigs maidens win across the country during the week, at: Aqueduct (two), Delta Downs, Gulfstream (four, including a BreezeFigs trifecta and BreezeFigs exacta), Oaklawn and Santa Anita (three, including a BreezeFigs trifecta and BreezeFigs exacta). Today’s card has a paucity of first-timers, but there are two intriguing plays you might consider, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Gulfstream Park, 6th Race, Forward Gal Stakes (G3), 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
We never venture into stakes events but this one has a first-timer on the rail who is a bit intriguing but strictly a gimmick play. Nikki and Papa comes out of FTMMAR with an even-Par Group 2 profile and a 24.44 foot stride length (SL) which was three-quarters of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. The two favorites in the race, Tonalist’s Shape and Street of Dreams are established BreezeFigs stars and should make up the top part of your gimmick play but sneak in Nikki and Papa beneath.
Santa Anita Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
Two BreezeFigs fillies in here but only one merits top billing. Clivetty put in a six-under-Par Group 3 stinker at OBSMAR with a 24.52 foot SL that was almost a half-foot longer than average that day. She was not sold (RNA), however, on a final bid of 500k and was wheeled back in OBSJUN. There she posted an eight-over-Par Group 1 ticket with a 25.91 foot SL, almost a foot-and-a-half longer than average that day. Then she went through the ring and was sold for 800k. Sometimes patience pays off. Enchanting Moon posted a three-over-Par Group 2 profile at the new FTCJUN sale with a 24.65 foot SL, two feet longer than average that day. However, she did not do well in her debut and would only be useful as a a bottom gimmick play with Clivetty your key. Good luck!
