BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, December 8, 2018 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

Strange race last week in our Pick—the logical choice, Stretford End, looked like a winner until he decided to finish second, leading home two other BreezeFigs horses for the trifecta and superfecta, one of which, Mutineer, we liked as well. Maybe you played it right, maybe you didn’t, but we just sat there with dropped jaws. In any case, 11 BreezeFigs juveniles did win last week at seven tracks: Del Mar, Fair Grounds (BreezeFigs exacta), Golden Gate, Gulfstream (five, including a BreezeFigs super and a BreezeFigs exacta), Los Alamitos (BreezeFigs trifecta) Tampa Bay and Zia Park. Saturday's card is a little light on first timers that we like, but there is a potentially good payoff waiting in one of them, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

Tampa Bay Downs, 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight,, One Mile (Turf)

Four BreezeFigs fillies are in here, all Group 1 from OBSAPR, with two on the AE list, only one of those with a shot. But we really like the first timer here, Sunflower Girl. She chalked up a six-over-par ticket at the sale with a 23.49 foot stride length (SL), which was just above average for fillies that day at a furlong, but she did it nicely and was fast. Surprise Again gets in the race off two turf starts which are moderate, but her four-over-par ticket featured a 24.56 foot SL which was more than half-foot longer than average. If either Aloha Kai or Catsoutofthebag gets in, the former’s poor form and the latter’s long vacation give us pause. We think a key on Sunflower Girl with a little gimmick consideration for Surprise Again is the way to go here. Good luck!
