BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, December 23, 2017, by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
First of all, Merry Christmas, Ho! Ho! Ho! Now to business. We thought keying on Prospective Lady was the thing to do last week and though she finished third, none of the others we liked to key with her cooperated. Still, there were 13 BreezeFigs maidens that won last week, distributed widely: Aqueduct, Delta Downs, Fair Grounds (two), Gulfstream (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Mahoning Valley, Parx (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Tampa Bay (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), and Turfway. Saturday's card is light on numbers because of the holiday, but we found a sneaky one for you to consider, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Penn National, 6th Race. Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Despite his name, Warrior Rose is not a filly, but he did light up the BreezeFigs board at OBSMAR where his six-over-Par Group 1 performance featured a 24.51 foot stride length (SL), more than half a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. He brought a fair price of 40k considering his sire, though well bred, is relatively unknown. He’s been stepping through his paces well enough for us to consider him as a stone cold gimmick play at 6-to-1, with maybe a little left over for a straight bet. Good luck!
