BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, December 11, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
The result for our Pick on a weak card last week turned out to be logical: The horse was scratched. Otherwise, it was an excellent week for BreezeFigs maiden 2-year-olds as 16 of them won at: Aqueduct (two), Fair Grounds (BreezeFigs exacta), Golden Gate, Gulfstream (five), Los Alamitos (four), Parx, Penn and Tampa Bay. Three 3-year-olds got off their schneids at Aqueduct, Gulfstream and Turfway. Today’s card is mixed but we found a couple that may do the trick,—see below. Stay safe, and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
2-Year-Olds:
Aqueduct, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, (New York-Breds), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Celine the Great comes in here as the only BreezeFigs candidate and her profile at EASMAY, while not exciting, might be good enough to qualify her as a key play. She posted a one-under-Par Group 3 ticket with a 23.40 foot stride length (SL), which was a third-of-a-foot shorter than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She sold well and has a clever outfit and is favored at 5-to-2 on the morning line so she warrants sharp attention.
Remington Park 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
Dream Pire posted a one-over-Par Group 2 ticket at OBSMAR with a 24.82 foot SL, which was a foot-and-a third longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. However, she did not attract much action in the ring and was not sold (RNA) at 75k. Reunification threw in a stinker at OBSJUN, her 10-under-Par Group 4 profile featuring a 22.35 foot SL, almost a foot and a quarter shorter than average that day for fillies. She either did not impress her connections or came out of the breeze with an issue, so she was scratched (SCR) before the auction began. We think Dream Pire is a solid key here even though she is on the rail and watch the board on Reunification (next to her in the gate) for gimmick indications. Good luck!.
