Breezefigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, August 8, 2020 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
With an explosive move at the eighth pole that left our other gimmick play behind, Reinvestment Risk blew the doors off as our co-Pick at the Spa last week and paid a very generous ten bucks. Watch this colt. He was one of a half-dozen baby BreezeFigs maidens to win last week including solos at Colonial, Del Mar, Gulfstream, Monmouth and Parx. The 3-year-olds had a solid week with eight of them winning, at Golden Gate, Indiana (three), Lone Star, Parx and Saratoga (two). Today’s cards are solid but we see no first-time 3-year-old worth touting. However, there are a couple on the 2-year-old card worth examining, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here are Saturday’s Pix:
2-Year-Olds
Laurel, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)
My Dream Girl is stuck on the rail but this filly has the goods to either outrun them early or take back and build momentum to close late. She comes out of OBSMAR with a one-over-Par Group 1 ticket that featured a 24.94 foot stride length (SL), which was almost a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a quarter mile. Nice odds, hook her up and you might want to play her straight as well.
Saratoga, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 1 1/16 Miles (Turf)
If this stays on the turf Mystical Man could provide some juicy returns based on his seven-over-Part Group 1 rating at OBSMAR where his 26.81 foot SL was more than two feet longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. He is worth all sorts of plays here. If it comes off the turf, Restored Order should be able to make up for his green shortfall in his debut and take home a prize based on his one-under-Par Group 3 ticket at OBSMAR where his 25.65 foot SL was almost a foot-and-a-half longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. There you go. Good luck!
