BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, August 28, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
If you’re happy with sneaking into a trifecta or superfecta, then you did OK with our Pix last week, but we were distinctly unamused. While only two 3-year-old BreezeFigs maidens won during the week (at Gulfstream and Presque Isle), nine of the 2-year-olds made it to the winner’s circle at: Delaware (four, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Ellis, Gulfstream (two), Parx and Saratoga (BreezeFigs trifecta).Today’s 3-year-old card has no first-timers while the 2-year-old card is loaded with them, most of them very iffy propositions. However, there is one race we think will be very playable, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
2-Year-Olds:
Del Mar, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Returning to the scene of one of last week’s disappointments, this race also has two BreezeFigs fillies with excellent credentials from OBSAPR along with short morning line odds. Electric Ride came out of that sale with a six-over-Par Group 1 ticket with a 24.67 foot stride length (SL), three-quarters of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. Captaire went a quarter mile in her drill and posted a three-over-Par Group 2 number with a 23.92 foot SL, more than half-a-foot shorter than average that day. However, she was scratched from the sale (SCR) and that may have been the result of something that happened during the breeze because she is favored in here. They both look to be keys, so watch the board in this race which is likely to turn out to be one of the best maiden races of the meet. Good luck!
