BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, April 29, 2017 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

We didn’t file a column last week because we were wrapped up doing video and looking at tons of horses in the OBSAPR sale, and the thought of that is somewhat exhausting. Sorry ‘bout that. As for our April 15thPick, let it be said that Fast Mama is probably the most inappropriate name to have been hung on that filly. During the past week, however, 13 BreezeFigs 3-year-old maidens scored their initial victories, some at tracks which are just a bit off the beaten path. They came at Evangeline, Golden Gate, Gulfstream (two—one BreezeFigs exacta and one BreezeFigs trifecta), Keeneland, Laurel, Mountaineer (two), Parx, Santa Anita, Tampa Bay (two), and Woodbine (a BreezeFigs exacta). The 2-year-olds are still revving up and none raced last week. Saturday's card is all over the place but we found a sneaky one, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

Belmont Park, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, New York-Breds, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)

This could be an interesting event, and the lone BreezeFigs filly in here is 30-to-1 in the morning line. However, we think Posse’s Paradise is a sneaky gimmick play given her EASMAY profile where she racked up an even-Par Group 2 ticket with a 24.43 foot stride length, which was four-fifths of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She might not have the speed to run away from this bunch, but she could get up to get part of the gimmick. Good luck
