BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, Saturday, April 28th

Bob Fierro|Apr 27, 2007

We gave you a stone-cold BreezeFigs exacta last week at Aqueduct and this week's card shows an increase in the number of 2-year-old races that you might want to peruse for good opportunities. Remember, please take advantage of all the tips that we provide--you can get a good idea by clicking on BreezeFigs Information underneath the two BreezeFigs links in the DRF-PLUS box in the right hand column on the home page and downloading files there.

This week we focus on one 2-Y-O and one 3-Y-O maiden races for opportunities. Good luck!

Churchill Downs, , Maiden Special, 6 Furlongs

A BreezeFigs bonanza here with four qualified entrants in this 3-Y-O maiden, three of which look very strong, two of them firsters. Red Rand Beach was a four-over-Par Group 1 colt at 1/4 mile at EASMAY last year and did well in his debut--but his stride length was slightly below average at that sale. This will give him some trouble if both Exhort and Past the Point are ready. The former was a whopping eight-over-Par at that same EASMAY sale at 1/8 mile where he showed a truly eye-popping 26.03 foot stride length. Past the Point was a five-over-Par horse at BARMAR where he actually had a longer stride length (26.63) than Exhort. These three look very juicy, and if you want a little saver, consider Long Ego, who's had two starts and showed little but may run to his very good OBSMAR stats some day.

Golden Gate, , Maiden Special, 4 Furlongs

She goes up against a filly who came home first in her debut but was DQ's, but we kind of like the chances of My Little Cokie, who was bought back (RNA) by her connections for $225,000 at the OBSFEB sale this year (not in the PP's), first of the season. There she showed a slightly above-average stride length of just over 23 feet at 1/8 mile, but other internal figs that we use gave her a smart five-over-Par Group 1 BreezeFig for the move. She is one of those quick moving fillies by a new sire who will get quick movers. Pounce.
