BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, April 25, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
There you go, two Pix, two scratches. Mix this up with the paucity of racing and we wind up with only two BreezeFigs maidens who won last week (at Oaklawn and Tampa Bay), and there were no 2-year-old races, either. We’ll try to make it up to you with three very Quick Pix on today’s card, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Gulfstream Park, 3rd Race, Maiden Claiming ($12,000), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Mammoth and Storm the Bridge breezed on the same day at OBSJUN with opposite results. Mammoth posted a six-over-Par Group 1 profile with a 24.75 foot stride length (SL), half a foot longer than average that day for colts at an eighth. Storm the Bridge posted a two-under-Par Group 4 profile with a 24.02 foot SL which was more than a half foot shorter than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. He was not sold (RNA) for 11k ad has shown little in two starts. We’ll go with Mammoth as the key here.
Tampa Bay, 3rd Race, Maiden Claiming ($25,000), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
This one is following a pattern—when Jonathan Thomas drops one in well below its sales price or previous claim price, please pounce. In this one first-timer Vivamente is the morning line favorite at 5-to-2 sporting a $130k price tag from OBSMAR after having posted a seven-over-Par Group 1 profile with a 25.09 foot SL, more than half a foot longer than average that day at a quarter mile. The other BreezeFigs filly, She’s So Indy, was a one-under-Par Group 3 performer at OBSJUN where her 24.13 foot SL was a quarter foot shorter than average that day, and she was not sold (RNA) at 29k; her two starts have been poor. Vivamente looks like a solid key.
Tampa Bay, 9th Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Three BreezeFigs fillies in here, two first-timers headed by Forevernoa who posted a four-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSAPR with a 24.80 SL, half a foot longer than average that day at a furlong. The other firster, Totally Perfect, was RNA’d at 19k after posting a two-under-Par Group 3 ticket at OBSJUN with a 24.87 foot SL, half a foot longer than average at a quarter mile. Pokegama comes in from Canterbury where her OBSAPR even-Par Group 2 profile at a quarter mile reflected her foot-under-average 23.65 foot SL. You could do worse than key one Forevernoa here. Good luck!.
