BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, April 15, 2017 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
May the Easter Bunny deposit many lucky eggs into your basket. We had an early visit from Mr. Rabbit last week as Queen Laila came home promptly as one of our Pix at a surprisingly short five bucks (the other one was basically left at the gate). What was really nice was that the following race resulted in a nice BreezeFigs exacta. Those two wins at Santa Anita were among the 11 that were racked up by BreezeFigs maidens during the week. There were two at Aqueduct, three at Gulfstream, and solos at Keeneland, Laurel, Oaklawn and Sunland. And be on notice: The 2017 BreezeFigs cards are being posted and they should start being populated as soon as some of these horses are ready to be entered—in fact, the Big Kahuna of sales, OBSAPR, will start its breezes on Monday. Saturday's card has some really interesting opportunities topped by the one below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Gulfstream Park, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 1 1/6 Miles (Turf)
You’re going to play Fast Mama because somebody will make sure you do because of her name. However, this filly deserves your wager off her four-over-Par Group 2 performance at OBSAPR last year where she posted a 24.59 foot stride length (SL), 1.38 feet longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. She’s got the grass folks so it’s no surprise she’s at 3-to-1 in the morning line. The other BreezeFigs filly, Everything’s Copa, breezed on the same day at OBSAPR, posting an even-par Group 2 profile with a quarter-foot longer-than-average 23.42 foot SL. However, she was not sold (RNA) at 45k so her PP’s don’t carry that. Her first start wasn’t bad, but if they hook up somewhere along the line, Fast Mama should be well ahead of her at the finish, and Fast Mama should be your key here anyway. Happy Easter! Good luck!
