BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, April 11, 2020 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
First of all, Happy Passover and Happy Easter. As far as the horses go, Gravitas, last week’s Pick came through with a surprising $10 payoff after setting the pace and just managing to hold on in a pretty heady effort. He was one of five BreezeFigs maidens who won during the week including another at Tampa Bay, two at Gulfstream (one a BreezeFigs exacta) and another at Oaklawn. Today’s card has numerous possibilities considering there are only three tracks operating, but we’ve got one that is distinctly under the radar, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Gulfstream Park, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
While everyone will be jumping on the $1.25 million Liam’s Map colt Colonel Liam in the 8th race, we think the 20-to-1 Liam’s Map colt Liam’s Boy on the rail in this event is a distinct key. He comes into this race off a one-over-Par Group 2 effort at EASMAY where his 25.43 foot stride length was more than a foot-and-a-half longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. While we like Colonel Liam as well, we think Liam’s Boy is the better opportunity to make a little more Easter money. Good luck!
