Last week’s Pix were a split decision: Our Sam Houston bet went down the tubes without so much as a by-your-leave, but our Santa Anita Pick came through in an unexpected way as Today’s Flavor got up to complete a generous exacta and if you keyed him and Bobby Bo in the super, well you got something else in return. Strange race in any case. Five BreezeFigs maidens got off the schneid last week at Delta, Gulfstream (BreezeFigs exacta), Hawthorne, Oaklawn and Penn National (BreezeFigs exacta). Today’s card is a bit thin but there’s a very contentious event we found, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Gulfstream Park, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs, (Dirt)
Three of the four BreezeFigs entrants here are making their debuts and all three are in the mix on the morning line. The favorite is Meetmeinkingston whose three-under-Par Group 3 performance at OBSAPR featured a 24.08 foot stride length (SL), which was about a quarter-foot shorter than average that day for colts at a furlong. At the same sale on a different day Twelve Volt Man posted an even-Par Group 2 ticket with a 25.31 foot SL that was three-quarters of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. Cajun Moon earned a nine-over-Par Group 1 effort at OBSMAR with a 26.25 foot SL, two feet longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. At OBSJUN Successful One posted an eight-over-Par Group 1 effort with a 25.49 foot SL which was more than a foot and a half longer than average that day, but he threw in the towel in his debut and is not among our plays here. However, we think both Cajun Moon and Twelve Volt Man might be better plays than Meetmeinkingston, though you should play around with all three while keeping an eye on the board. Good luck!
