BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Friday, December 23, 2016 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Surprise! A day early, hopefully not a dollar short, since there is only one track operating on Saturday, Christmas Eve, we decided to give you an early gift, maybe. Hopefully we will not duplicate our poor choice of last week, wherein our Pix ran like they needed to be awakened. In a shortened week, however, there were still nine BreezeFigs maidens which won: Aqueduct, Gulfstream (three), Los Alamitos, Parx, Sunland and Tampa Bay (two). Friday's card is all over the place, with several hotly contentious events, including the one below. Good luck—and Merry! Merry! Ho! Ho! Ho!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Friday’s Pck:
Delta Downs, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)
One of the three BreezeFigs fillies in here, Two J’s, is listed at 5-to-2 on the morning line, and based on her first two starts, she might be worth it. But there’s a firster in here, Taylor’s Beauty, who looks a bit better on the rate of potential return (12-to-1) given that all three of these fillies come out of OBSJUN. Taylor’s Beauty scampered to an 11-over-Par Group 1 ticket with a 24.24 foot stride length (SL), more than a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. Two J’s, on the other hand, posted an even-Par Group 2 profile at a quarter mile with a 23.52 foot SL, just a tad longer than average. She previously had been RNA’d (not sold) for 57k at OBSAPR where she posted a one-over-Par Group 1 profile also at a quarter mile with a 23.93 foot SL, just a tad below average that day. Harlons Commission, who will also be making her third start, posted a two-over-Par Group 2 ticket with a 24.22 foot SL, more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average for a furlong that day. However, she has slowed down in her first two starts. We think you could pick up a nice Christmas gift by boxing Taylor’s Beauty and Two J’s. Good luck!
