Breeders' Futurity winner Rattle N Roll back on work tab

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Rattle N Roll, unraced since winning the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland in early October, returned to the work tab early Saturday at Gulfstream Park when breezing three furlongs in company.
Working alongside Creative Minister, an unraced 3-year-old like Rattle N Roll trained by Kenny McPeek, Rattle N Roll went in 36 seconds as McPeek looks to make up for time lost to a minor rear-foot injury.
“We gave him the time he needed and he’s really doing well,” said McPeek, who hopes to get two preps into the son of Connect leading into the May 7 Kentucky Derby.
The next morning, McPeek sent out two of his other Derby hopefuls for another five-furlong team drill at Gulfstream when Tiz the Bomb went in 1:01.20 and Smile Happy went a tick slower. Tiz the Bomb runs here Feb. 5 in the Holy Bull and Smile Happy goes a week later in the Risen Star at Fair Grounds. A fourth McPeek prospect, Dash Attack, runs Saturday in the Southwest at Oaklawn Park.
